Our Day Out To Studio 2, Abbey Road Studios, London, March 2013.
This is the holy grail for any recording engineer, sound man or musician, a visit to the fabled studio 2 of Abbey Road Studios which myself, Joe Thorne, Geoff Sims & Tim Gulliver managed to achieve in March 2013. It was a small number of open days with a seminar on the history of EMI, and a chance to experience the hallowed room and see some of the equipment used to make some of the most important albums in the world - such as Abbey Road by the Beatles and Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd. To think that I sat in the room where The Shadows recorded most of their early recordings, where the Beatles recorded everything except the album Let it Be, and Pink Floyd recorded their momentous album. It was a life long ambition, all my bucket lists, and I can now die, and go to where ever I am going to go, a happy man. I've even got the t-shirt and mug! And of course we had to go over the famous zebra crossing, several times to the annoyance of the traffic which has to stop every couple of seconds for people posing as they cross. Well, it's rude not to! The photo's are the property of Peter Legg © 2013, and anyone can save/download them for their own personal use only.
